Learn how to make perfectly crispy chicken wings in your air fryer, ideal for game day or any party. This recipe covers dry rubs, sauces, and tips for cooking from frozen.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds chicken wings, separated into drumettes and flats
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Optional: Your favorite wing sauce or dry rub ingredients

Instructions

  1. Pat the chicken wings completely dry with paper towels. This is crucial for crispiness.
  2. In a bowl, toss the wings with olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and onion powder until evenly coated.
  3. Arrange the wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Do not overcrowd the basket; cook in batches if necessary.
  4. Air fry at 380°F (190°C) for 15 minutes.
  5. Flip the wings and increase the temperature to 400°F (200°C).
  6. Air fry for another 10-15 minutes, or until the wings are golden brown and crispy.
  7. If using a sauce, toss the cooked wings in your favorite sauce immediately after removing them from the air fryer.
  8. Serve hot and enjoy.

Notes

  • For extra crispy skin, you can add 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder to the dry rub. Ensure it’s aluminum-free.
  • If cooking from frozen, add an additional 5-7 minutes to the initial cooking time.
  • This recipe is easily scalable for larger crowds. Adjust cooking time as needed for larger batches.
  • Consider this recipe as part of your meal planning for Super Bowl parties.
