Ingredients
Scale
1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined (fresh or frozen, no thaw needed)
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 teaspoons garlic powder
1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
If using frozen shrimp, run them under cold water briefly to remove ice crystals, then pat them completely dry with paper towels. If using fresh, ensure they are fully thawed and patted dry.
In a medium bowl, toss the shrimp with olive oil, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
Place the seasoned shrimp in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Do not overcrowd the basket; cook in batches if necessary to maintain crispiness.
Air fry at 390°F (199°C) for 6 to 8 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through the cooking time.
Remove the basket. Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the hot shrimp and toss gently to coat.
Return the shrimp to the air fryer for 1 more minute, just until the cheese melts slightly and adheres.
Transfer the shrimp to a serving dish, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve immediately.
Notes
Patting the shrimp very dry is key for achieving crispy results in the air fryer.
For a low-carb or keto option, omit the Parmesan cheese or use a keto-friendly alternative.
This shrimp works well tossed into salads, tacos, or served as an appetizer with dipping sauce.
