Make this quick, creamy peanut sauce in five minutes. It works well as a dip, dressing, or marinade for noodles, spring rolls, or grilled items.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup warm water
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup or honey
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon sriracha or chili garlic sauce (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine the peanut butter and warm water in a medium bowl. Whisk until mostly smooth.
  2. Add the soy sauce, lime juice, maple syrup, ginger, garlic, and sriracha (if using) to the bowl.
  3. Whisk all ingredients together until the sauce is completely smooth and creamy.
  4. If the sauce is too thick, add more warm water, one teaspoon at a time, until you reach your desired consistency for dipping or drizzling.
  5. Taste the sauce and adjust seasonings, adding more lime for tang or maple syrup for sweetness if needed.

Notes

  • For a vegan option, use maple syrup instead of honey.
  • To make this gluten-free, use tamari instead of soy sauce.
  • Thin the sauce with a little extra water to use it as a salad dressing.
  • Store leftover sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
