A retro party appetizer that is easy to make and always a crowd-pleaser. This cheese ball is perfect for gatherings and can be customized with your favorite flavors.

  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped pecans, divided
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped fresh parsley, divided
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • Crackers, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and shredded cheddar cheese. Mix until well combined.
  2. Stir in 1/4 cup of the chopped pecans, 2 tablespoons of the chopped parsley, garlic powder, and black pepper. Mix until all ingredients are evenly distributed.
  3. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or until firm enough to shape.
  4. On a plate or shallow dish, combine the remaining 1/4 cup chopped pecans and 2 tablespoons chopped parsley.
  5. Once the cheese mixture is firm, scoop it out and shape it into a ball using your hands.
  6. Gently roll the cheese ball in the pecan and parsley mixture, pressing lightly to coat evenly.
  7. Transfer the cheese ball to a serving platter. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.
  8. Serve with your favorite crackers.

Notes

  • For a different flavor, you can add 2 tablespoons of finely chopped cooked ham or bacon to the cheese mixture.
  • Experiment with different nuts like walnuts or almonds for rolling.
  • You can also roll the cheese ball in paprika or a combination of herbs for a different look and taste.
