This is a simple, no-bake ice cream pie using an Oreo crust, creamy chocolate ice cream, and a fudge swirl. It is a quick assembly dessert perfect for parties.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups crushed Oreo cookies
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 1/2 quarts chocolate ice cream, slightly softened
  • 1/2 cup fudge sauce, warmed slightly
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Prepare the crust: Mix the crushed Oreo cookies and melted butter in a bowl until the crumbs are evenly moistened. Press this mixture firmly into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch pie plate. Freeze the crust for 15 minutes.
  2. Assemble the filling: Spread the slightly softened chocolate ice cream evenly over the frozen Oreo crust. Drizzle half of the warmed fudge sauce over the ice cream layer. Use a knife to gently swirl the fudge into the ice cream.
  3. Freeze: Place the pie back into the freezer and freeze for at least 4 hours, or until firm. This is a key step for a solid frozen creamy pie.
  4. Make the topping: In a separate bowl, whip the heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
  5. Finish and serve: Spread or pipe the whipped cream over the frozen pie. Drizzle the remaining fudge sauce over the top. Slice and serve this ultimate ice cream dessert immediately, or return it to the freezer until ready to serve.

Notes

  • If you do not have Oreo cookies, you can substitute with graham crackers for a graham cracker pie base.
  • For an easier assembly, let the ice cream sit on the counter for 10-15 minutes until it is spreadable but not melted.
  • This recipe works well as a make ahead dessert; freeze it up to one week before serving.
