Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped

  • 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
  • 2 (6 ounce) cans tomato paste
  • 1 (15 ounce) can water

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef with onion and garlic. Drain off any excess fat.

  7. Arrange 3 lasagna noodles over the sauce.
  8. Spread half of the cottage cheese mixture over the noodles.
  9. Top with 1/3 of the mozzarella cheese.
  10. Repeat layers: meat sauce, noodles, cottage cheese mixture, mozzarella cheese.
  11. Top with remaining noodles, meat sauce, and remaining mozzarella cheese.
  12. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  13. Remove foil and bake for an additional 5 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  14. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
