- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, olive oil, lemon juice, honey, minced garlic, grated ginger, and black pepper.
- Place tuna steaks in a resealable bag or shallow dish.
- Pour the marinade over the tuna steaks, ensuring they are fully coated.
- Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes, or up to 30 minutes. Do not over-marinate as the citrus can ‘cook’ the fish.
- Remove tuna from marinade and discard the used marinade.
- Cook tuna steaks as desired (grill, pan-sear, etc.).
Notes
- For meal planning, you can marinate the tuna ahead of time and store it in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.
- This marinade is also great for other types of fish or even chicken.
