Make this simple, crowd-pleasing appetizer that blends creamy cheese with sweet and spicy pepper jelly. It is quick to prepare and perfect for parties or game days.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup pepper jelly (red or mixed fruit)
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
  • Bacon bits (optional, for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease an oven-safe serving dish.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and shredded cheddar cheese. Mix until the cheeses are fully blended and smooth.
  3. Spread the cheese mixture evenly into the prepared serving dish.
  4. Spoon the pepper jelly over the top of the cheese layer. Spread it gently so you do not mix it into the cheese layer too much.
  5. If using, sprinkle chopped nuts or bacon bits over the jelly layer.
  6. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the dip is heated through and slightly bubbly around the edges.
  7. Serve warm immediately with your preferred dippers.

Notes

  • Serve this dip with sturdy crackers, tortilla chips, pretzel crisps, or sliced vegetables like celery and carrots.
  • For a baked version, the total time increases by 15 minutes for baking.
  • If you prefer a non-baked version, simply mix all ingredients (except bacon/nuts) and serve at room temperature or slightly chilled.
