Make this simple, nostalgic appetizer by wrapping cocktail sausages in crescent roll dough and baking until golden brown.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (8 ounce) package crescent roll dough
  • 1 (12 ounce) package cocktail sausages or mini hot dogs
  • 1 large egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1 teaspoon everything bagel seasoning (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll the crescent roll dough on a clean surface. Separate the dough into individual triangles.
  3. If using full-sized crescent sheets, cut each rectangle into three smaller, equal rectangles.
  4. Take one cocktail sausage and wrap it tightly in one piece of dough, starting from the wider end and rolling toward the tip. Pinch the seam closed.
  5. Place the wrapped sausages seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Brush the tops of the wrapped sausages lightly with the beaten egg wash.
  7. Sprinkle with everything bagel seasoning, if desired.
  8. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the dough is puffed and golden brown.
  9. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • For a cheesy center, place a small slice of cheddar or pepper jack cheese on the sausage before rolling it in the dough.
  • If you want crispier bottoms, you can place a wire rack on top of the baking sheet before arranging the pigs.
  • Serve with mustard, ketchup, or honey mustard for dipping.
