Recreate the famous fluffy, slightly sweet dinner rolls from Texas Roadhouse in your own kitchen, complete with homemade cinnamon honey butter.

  • 1 cup warm milk (105-115°F)
  • 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 ½ to 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • For the Cinnamon Honey Butter:
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, and sugar. Let stand for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Stir in salt, beaten egg, and melted butter.
  3. Gradually add 3 ½ cups of flour, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  4. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes, adding more flour as needed, until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1 to 1 ½ hours, or until doubled in size.
  6. Punch down dough and divide into 12-16 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball and place them close together in a greased 9×13 inch baking pan.
  7. Cover the pan and let the rolls rise for another 30-45 minutes.
  8. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  9. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  10. While rolls are baking, prepare the cinnamon honey butter: In a small bowl, cream together softened butter, honey, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
  11. Serve warm rolls with cinnamon honey butter.
