Simple and budget-friendly tuna patties that are quick to make for a weeknight meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 (5 ounce) can tuna, drained
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped onion
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the drained tuna, mayonnaise, beaten egg, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  2. Shape the mixture into 4 patties.
  3. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  4. Carely place the tuna patties in the hot skillet.
  5. Cook for 3-4 minutes per side, until golden brown and heated through.
  6. Serve hot.

Notes

  • For crispier patties, you can add an extra tablespoon of breadcrumbs.
  • Serve with your favorite tartar sauce or a squeeze of lemon.
  • These patties can also be baked at 375°F (190°C) for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through.
